Second beginning... thoughts on losing my blog

Hello everyone!

Yesterday something happened. Something that I wouldn't wish on anyone - my blog was deleted with all its content and all attempts to retrieve it have failed miserably.

But life is life and one of the most powerful lessons we can learn is to move on. Therefore I wanted to share a few thought this experience has birthed:

- Better now than later - it would undoubtedly be an awful stress for me if that happened towards the very end of my inquiry (for a simple reason that I'll probably be more stressed around that time in general). Having this happen now still gives me motivation to start again and keep on engaging with the BAPP community

- Make back-ups of EVERYTHING that's important to you! It's not the first time I've lost something of value to me (recordings of music ideas, a lesson plan, favourite scarf, money). Some of them I've managed to find (Oh, what a joy!) and some were lost forever. I believe this particular experience will increase my levels of carefulness and hopefully will help me to keep any major slip ups away till the glorious day od graduation (and beyond really!). I've already been emailing to myself every updated version of interviews transcripts (yes, my inbox is bursting at the seams!)

- As my research looks into time, its value and ways we manage it, this experience is definitely making a contribution to the process (not the most desirable, but still - a contribution). Sometimes you realise the value of time you've invested into something only after it's lost. So this is a reminder for me to appreciate nad celebrate the process more as the results might not last forever!

Also I'm grateful for everyone's contribution in their comments under my posts and I'm really sad that all of them are now lost. I'll try to put up at least some of my previous content, so feel free to write your comments again!

If you want to share any obstacles that have appeared on your way during this inquiry feel free to do so in the comments

Elzbieta x
